On Wednesday, February 20th, citizens in Robertsfors
municipality gathered for a seminar on possibilities. What was unique
about it was that there has never been a seminar like this, based on a Sustainable Development Plan (SDP). The SDP contains all the municipal plans for making Robertsfors a sustainable municipality by the year 2050.
As the name suggest, the goal for the seminar was to bring fourth visions, and looking creatively and constructively towards the future for the Department of Education and Children's Services. Premiering in Robertsfors, the objective was to hear and share a lot of ideas before updating the activity plan in the SDP. Ms. Barbro Kalla from Esam led the discussions.
The participants worked in small groups, discussing and describing how the school of 2020 should look like from different perspectives: The Attractive School, The Open and Allowing School, The Active School, The Democratic School and The School of Entrepreneurship. Then, everybody was asked to list all good things that are already in place.
After a locally produced lunch, the groups continued to discuss concrete ideas of what needs to be done better prior to 2011.
Ms. Kalla declares the seminar of possibilities a success, and is fascinated over the wide age-span that was represented – from the student council to the municipal council:
– It was fun to see high school students telling the municipal leaders what they wanted the schools to be like in the year 2020. We also got some great ideas on how to design the next seminar, to bring in more views from teachers and parents on the educational development.
Mr. Gunnar Brundin from Esam was also present on the seminar, as he is the project leader on building a management system to control the sustainable development planning for the whole of Robertsfors municipality.
